Jamie Hodgkinson, Assistant Spa Manager & Stylist
Ship: Oceana
I love our spa environment which we work in, picking up knowledge and always trying to better myself. It is awesome
meeting and working with enthusiastic people from all around the World. I get a great buzz working for the On Board
Spa Company and will be with them for years to come.
Valerie de Kock, Guest Services Manager
Ship: Oceana
Sea and ship life becomes a way of life. It is a unique experience that not many individuals get the opportunity to
experience. I get to meet and come into contact with people from all around the World, both in terms of passengers,
colleagues, and crew. The role is definitely challenging, but being a good team player makes this easier and ensures
that you can progress in your career.
Borjana Markovic, Guest Services Manager
Ship: Ventura
I have been working on board P&O Ventura for 4 months as a Guest Service Manager in the Spa. Before I worked at
sea I had a job in an office with no windows and no view, so I decided to make a big change in my life.
Now, here I have a job I love, amazing views that change everyday, I’m gaining experience and knowledge, meeting so
many interesting people, enjoying time off in some of the most beautiful places in the world. I am truly enjoying
this adventure.
Dale Jackman, Assistant Manager
Ship: Ventura
My Name is Dale Jackman BSc. I have been with On Board Spa Company for just over a year. I have been in the fitness
industry for 12 years, specialising in GP referrals and nutrition. After spending six weeks in the academy I was
sent to my first ship the Ocean Village 2 were I met some amazing people who helped me develop my skills and have a
great time. The hours can be long and at times the job is hard but the good times far out way the bad. During the
last year I have surfed in Grand Canaria and in the Caribbean, driven jet skis, climbed icebergs, and had far too
many good times in the crew bars to remember, and also found time to work.
Over the last year I feel I have helped more people to change their lives for the better than at any other time
during my career. At the moment I am currently serving on one of P&O’s finest ships, the Ventura, as the
Assistant Manager. I work with an amazing team of professionals who I learn from everyday. The opportunity to better
yourself and to go places is huge in this company if you’re looking for a challenge and to get outside of your
comfort zone this is the place to be.
